As a GP and Life Coach I obviously fully know what a healthy lifestyle is, but I am human and just as vulnerable as anyone else!

Through the 1st lockdown I felt like “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” by Eric Carle! One way of coping was baking regularly like a “Suzy Homemaker” and allowing myself many tasty edible treats - I felt like I deserved them being a frontline GP.

I vowed to evolve as a beautiful butterfly towards the end of this current lockdown, however, it hasn't quite gone to plan! I am not being self critical though as that never serves you well.

You see the timing has to be right, you have to be in the correct mindset in order to 100% commit to making the right choices and once you are, you have to break your ultimate goal into smaller steps otherwise it is overwhelming and doesn't happen.

Firstly, I stopped baking after Christmas, for Lent I have given up biscuits, cakes, and confectionery, and today the sun was shining so I did my 1st jog in a year without stopping! I kept reminding myself that only 18 months ago, I completed a 10km charity run without stopping. My personal success today will give me the confidence to repeat the same tomorrow and so forth! We all know that the key to good habits is repetition!

My ultimate aim is to be 2 stone lighter and fitter by my big five-oh birthday in November. Will you all hold me accountable to this please? I will keep you updated.

Being 100% committed and willing, breaking a goal into smaller steps, and being held accountable are fundamental aspects of life coaching. Allow me to support you in what you truly desire and crave in life.
